14 Jun 13th Kesterite Workshop
Organized in collaboration between the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Catalan Institute for Energy Research (IREC), this time more open than ever to emerging photovoltaic materials and concepts.
The Workshop has taken place at the new UPC Campus Besòs just in front of IREC headquarters, on 5th (Pre-Workshop Student Day), 6th and 7th of July 2023, and will be fully presential.
3 days of talks and workshops where attendees could learn, improve and question progress in the field. With a complete program that you can see on the official website of the workshop.
The PhD student Maykel Jiménez Guerra participation
In this congress, Maykel has presented his work “New strategies to control the crystalline orientation for the development of high-efficiency Sb2Se3 solar cells“
The congress was held at the UPC’s Besos campus, organised by the UPC (universitat politècnica de catalunya) and IREC (Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya). The aim of
this congress is always the dissemination of new advances in the framework of the applications of Kesterites and new materials, always thin film materials. Search and discussion of new and nove
l joint strategies to further advance these materials until they make the leap to the industry.
The congress consisted of a first day dedicated to the PhD students, with lectures on characterisation techniques, modelling and other applications for these materials and active discussions on the different thesis topics. The rest of the days were lectures selected by the organising committee on the different research works carried out in these fields and a poster session in which among others the work of the author.
Maykel’s work presents a new route for the synthesis of Sb2Se3. In this study, the thermal treatments are carried out in high-pressure furnaces, which can help to better control the orientation of these new materials, a key parameter in the search for good efficiency.
But all the researchers of the Sensate group have participate with talks and posters:
